My Approach to Therapy
Psychotherapy
My approach to therapy is very collaborative. I want to support your ideas and your passions and to support you in setting and achieving your goals. I too have goals for you in therapy and that is to help you to strengthen your hope, identity, and self-worth. I want to help you to gain coping skills to manage life's difficult moments. I want to help you to live more fully in the present while healing the past pain you can't seem to shake and to have the confidence to handle whatever may come your way. I want to uncover immediate ways to improve your life and to help you to identify and change long stemming harmful patterns that may have you feeling 'stuck.'
Modalites
I work from a Person-Centered, CBT, and Psychodynamic perspective. However, I tailor each approach depending on the needs of my individual client. I believe that much is achieved from simply having a compassionate, non-judgmental, and attuned therapist to see, hear, and support you. That being said, I also believe that we can utilize specific tools, such as; homework, en vivo activities, somatic work, role playing, and additional interventions and resources to help bring about change and growth.
